Black Sea region should become the area of stability and prosperity, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement at the 36th plenary meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member-States in Saint-Petersburg, parliamentary press office reported.
Addressing the audience on behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, V.Lytvyn declared that parliamentary assemblies of CIS and BSEC pursued the same goal, i.e. strengthening of cooperation between the countries and nations. He stressed that five PABSEC member states Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine are also members of CIS IPA.
